Book Tagline:  Kendra’s ability of communicating with the dead is requested by her FBI criminal analyst friend to stop a killer from murdering agents.

Series Tagline: Kendra sees ghosts, and then her BFF, Jenna, becomes one. The two friends and FBI agent Derek Knight fight for justice to the victims of heinous crimes.

Book Description:

Kendra Spark, suspense-mystery romance author and communicator with the dead, is requested to hop on the first flight to D.C.

Jenna Powers, FBI criminal analyst and estranged best friend of Kendra, gets ghosticized in a fatal accident before relaying all the details of the FBI killer case.

Derek Knight, a dedicated FBI Special Task Force agent, takes lead on the case.

The investigation into the FBI agent killings continues as Kendra, Jenna – yes, even after death – and Derek work together on the case before Director of the Special Task Force Jackson Powers’ number is up. He’s Jenna’s father and the end-game of the killer’s target list.

Somehow the elusive killer remains undetected, until Kendra’s unique ability produces results and a final possibility at stopping his killing spree before it’s too late.

From the Author Review Copy: The scene –
Derek has Kendra in a casual interrogation room inside the FBI building – D.C.

The door opened
and Jackson Powers entered before I could respond.
He glanced
around the room stopping when he saw me; his red rimmed eyes spoke volumes. I
clearly remembered his presence, a straightforward man, full of confidence and
direction, but in this moment he appeared like a man broken. I rose and reached
for a hand shake. Instead, he grabbed my hand and pulled me into a big bear
“I’m so very
sorry about Jenna. Sorry for your loss, for my loss…” Muscles tensed around my
vocals and cut off the words.
Tears spilled
from both of us. Derek stepped out of the room, clicking the door closed.
“Jenna told me
she was meeting with you today, going to show you the city sights.” Jackson
held me for a few more minutes, patting my back and telling me it wasn’t my
The thought of
the accident initially being my fault had never entered my mind. Why would that
thought cross his? I stepped back. Obviously he hadn’t received the latest
details of the accident, but even so why would he consider that I’d feel
responsible. Even if I questioned that maybe I could have done something to
stop her in some way, she did save that boy. “Not sure what you mean…in
thinking it could be my fault?”
His eyes
widened, maybe a little startled at my blatant question. “I assumed Jenna ran
after a little culprit that grabbed your purse or something much worse. She
must have gotten caught up in the chase to run in front of on-coming traffic.”
His face softened. “Kendra, I know Jenna, there was nothing you could have done
to stop her. She’s always been head-strong…was always
head-strong,” he
corrected himself, then his voice cracked, and suddenly something occurred to
Jackson isn’t
privy to Jenna and Derek’s manhunt for the FBI killer, nor the reason I’m here.
Of course. Jenna had tagged along to certain crime scenes while she was still
in college, but from all that I remembered, Jackson wanted her profiling cases
strictly inside the building. She had access to all the crime scenes from
pictures and files on her laptop. At least she always used to complain about
his restrictions, and I couldn’t imagine he would allow her in the field on a
serial killer task force, unless things had changed in the last couple years.
There’d been a
few close calls on other cases, some of the agent’s family members being
abducted or being used for negotiation, leverage. While in college, Jenna told
me all the rules her father had enforced if she were to join in any of the FBI
cases. He protected her, and now she had returned the favor…to her demise.
Jenna and Derek
were hunting the serial killer behind Jackson’s back.
There was a tap
on the door and Derek stepped in. His brows were drawn close, eyes narrowed,
perhaps his expression of concern. “Sir, I thought Kendra might be hungry. She
hasn’t eaten all day.” He smiled at me, and then looked back at Jackson. “I’m
headed out for a late lunch and thought I’d take her with me.”
Jackson’s lips
pressed together. He finally lifted his chin toward me. “Well, of course. We
certainly wouldn’t want anyone going hungry now, would we,” more of a statement
than a question. He patted my shoulder. “Go on, Kendra. We can continue our
talk later. I’d like to hear exactly what happened to my daughter from someone
who was there to witness it.”
Derek grasped my
elbow and led me toward the door.
Instead of
following, Jackson released a long breathy sigh and sat on the couch. “Shut the
door behind you, Derek. And tell Darla I don’t wish to be disturbed.”

My heart swelled
huge behind my ribcage, again the confining weight pressing in on my ability to
breathe. I couldn’t imagine the emotional maelstrom Jackson was going through.
I knew only my own turbulent ride. Now I needed to get some facts straight; it
was my turn to interrogate Derek.

My Review:
This was a very interesting read to me. I love ghost stories. They are my favorite. This one really grabbed me since I also like mysteries.

Kendra Spark is a author who lives in Michigan. Oh and she can communicate with ghosts.  Jenna who best friend for many years is a FBI Analyst in Washington DC. Kendra gets a call from Jenna wanting her to help her on a case. Not just people are dying but FBI Agents. Jenna is hoping Kendra can use her special gift to come up with some answers and hopefully figure out who the killer is.
Of course Kendra jumps to help Jenna. Just as they are getting started on the case Jenna is killed in a car accident. Now Kendra, Ghost Jenna and hot agent Derek need to solve the case before more agents are killed.
I liked how all 3 of the main characters actually had their own turns to shine through out the story. S. Peters-Davis has done a great job with this story. I will be waiting on the rest of the series,

Interview with S. Peters-Davis
Hello Teresa, thank you so much for hosting me on “T’s Stuff,” and may I add, great interview questions; ) I appreciate you, your time and support, and your place…thank you again.

Where do you get inspiration for your stories?
Inspiration comes to me from everywhere: ) Experiences of my own, my family, and friends – from books, TV, movies, news, and my writing accountability partner. It also comes from my publisher and many of the authors there. My inspiration, like my story ideas, surround me, they are everywhere I am.

How did you do research for your book?
Before I started writing the book, I checked out all of the significant locations I’d use in the story – noted the distance/travel time between each. I also spent time on google earth to get a clearer picture of the areas, even though I’d visited a few of them. Also checked the average weather for the time of year my story takes place.
Then I found a few books on forensics and FBI/Police procedures – also went to specific sites online for more information. Took a Forensic on-line course and joined Sisters in Crime Organization.
I wrote the story and while writing I noted anything that needed further research – like some of the paranormal elements; )

Do you have another profession besides writing?
No. I resigned my day job in 2000 to write. Thank goodness my husband was supportive throughout my writing journey. It took me a while to gain momentum; )

If you could go back in time, where would you go?
Probably back to my mid-grade years…when times were happiest in my family; )

What are your next projects?
I’m presently writing, Secret: At HL Woods – written as DK Davis (YA author pseudonym) to complete for release on January 1st, 2018. Plus I’m working on Malevolent, book 2 of the Kendra Spark Novels, hoping to release in early summer of 2018. And I’ve been working on a new project with another author, Jake & Sam, Twisted Tales of Freakish Fun (a mid-grade book of short stories for boys) to complete by fall of 2018 (or before).
Then I’ll get to work on Secret: Of Amber Eyes for mid-winter release in 2019.

Glazed, cryptic eyes pierced through me, reminding me of a strung-out junky. His face seemed vaguely familiar, right down to his golden curls. Just couldn’t put my finger on where I’d seen him before. An eerie thrill rippled my spine. The way he was staring creeped me out. I quickly skirted past him, only to have Blondie clasp my arm. Okay, now I was officially freaked.
Let go of me!” I seethed.
The time has come,” he blurted.
What are you talking about?”
The decision is made … binding.”
This dude was clearly psycho. He spoke in riddles, none of which I understood. “You’ve got me confused with someone else.”
No, you’re the one.”
My purse, where I normally kept my Taser, was nowhere to be found. He’d better be glad or I’d light his ass up. This whole scene was turning more bizarre by the second. I couldn’t figure out where I was. My surroundings were dim and heat began to consume me. Blondie leaned closer to me. Being nearer, I got a better look at his dilated eyes. His pupils were diamond-shaped, not the usual round. His grip tightened.
Asshole. Take your hands off me!”
You’re chosen, and you’re coming with me.”
Though I struggled against him, it didn’t do any damn good. Bright light blazed up ahead, mixed with smoldering heat. I soon realized the light and scalding warmth was coming from giant flames. Doubling my efforts, I fought harder, to no avail. Blondie’s face became a blur, and darkness encompassed me—the scalding heat grew stronger. Time seemed to stand still—my mind swirled in a haze. The only thought that became clear, which seemed to chisel into my mind, was that I had to make the right choice.

My name is Dorian Gray. You might think you know my story? Please. That was just the beginning. Not the end.

I’ve lived over 100 years. I don’t know why. I’ve sinned, deeply, but haven’t we all?

Now Sybil is back. Her name is Izzy and she looks the same. Smells the same. Walks the same…but everything else about her is different. Stronger. Bolder. I want her more than ever.

I should keep her safe, and keep my hands to myself. But those dark parts of my soul still linger. I won’t lose her again.

Some said women who knew their own minds were dangerous. I disagreed. A woman who knew her mind, and her worth, was intoxicating.

She cleared her throat and I realized my thoughts had been wandering to the past. “My apologies.”

Her face flushed a pretty pink. “It’s fine just stop looking at me like that.”

“Like what?”

“Like I’m more than an employee.”

I leaned out, about to pull her in again for another lesson but she stalled my hands, placing her small ones on the outside of my own. They were chilled slightly but the touch sent a heat through me I hadn’t felt in years.

“I think we just had this conversation.”

She leaned in and pulled her hands into her lap. “No, we had a lecture. You told me how you wanted it and didn’t give me the chance to offer an opinion.”

Fair point. “Very well, what is your opinion on the matter, Miss Vale?”

“Do you actually want to know, or are you going to do that playboy billionaire thing where you declare something to be and suddenly the universe aligns against the poor unsuspecting female you set your sights on?”

I chuckled. She was funny. Maybe Sibyl had been funny too, and I never took the time to notice. “I promise your opinion will be considered with appropriate weight.”

“That sounds like something a billionaire playboy would say.”

I didn’t respond to her taunts but waited instead for her answer.

She raked her eyes over my face and body, and I’d never felt more on display. I sat up straighter, which caused a little tick of a smile to appear at the corner of her mouth.

“I don’t want to date you, Gray. You’re technically my boss, and while you’re very attractive I can’t put aside my personal work ethic.”

My heart hit my feet and shattered like a boulder into a pile of rubble. Of course I wasn’t going to force her to do anything. But part of me had hoped my charm or appeal might at least give me the opportunity.

“Is there anything I can do to change your mind?”

She shook her head and gave me a sad soft smile, the kind reserved for deathbeds and christenings. Definitely not the reaction I wanted from her. Not the smile I wanted from her.

I nodded and stood up, unable to remain under her scrutiny once she’d made her opinion so very plain. “Of course. I’ll not bother you again.”

“And you’ll stop following me?”

I threw some bills on the table, slipped my arms into my coat, and buttoned it, all without meeting her eyes. The rejection stung. In fact, I don’t think I’d ever felt this particular mix of humiliation and sadness. Once I was put together and glued on the face I showed the world, I gave her my own version of the deathbed smile and a little bow. “Of course.”

I walked away without a word but when I reached the middle of the square a hand clasped my shoulder. Izzy grabbed me and held out the book I’d left on the table. I took it and met her eyes, unsure what she could see there, unsure what I could and couldn’t hide when I was around her.

She leaned in and whispered, “I’m not going to ask to kiss you but I will give you this as a parting gift.”

Carry Me Home

Published by: Acorn Publishing
Publication date: September 26th 2017
Genres: Contemporary, Thriller, Young Adult

“A riveting page-turner… Jessica Therrien broke my heart into a million pieces — and then put it back together again. This book will haunt and uplift readers long after they turn the last page.”

-KAT ROSS, best-selling author of The Midnight Sea

CARRY ME HOME is a fictional novel inspired by the true story of a teenage girl’s involvement in several Mexican gangs in San Jose and Los Angeles. The members of her crew call her, Guera, Spanish for “white girl” and it doesn’t take long for her to get lost in their world of guns and drugs.

* * *

Lucy and Ruth are country girls from a broken home. When they move to the city with their mother, leaving behind their family ranch and dead-beat father, Lucy unravels.

They run to their grandparents’ place, a trailer park mobile home in the barrio of San Jose. Lucy’s barrio friends have changed since her last visit. They’ve joined a gang called VC. They teach her to fight, to shank, to beat a person unconscious and play with guns. When things get too heavy, and lives are at stake, the three girls head for LA seeking a better life.

But trouble always follows Lucy. She befriends the wrong people, members of another gang, and every bad choice she makes drags the family into her dangerous world.

Told from three points of view, the story follows Lucy down the rabbit hole, along with her mother and sister as they sacrifice dreams and happiness, friendships and futures. Love is waiting for all of them in LA, but pursuing a life without Lucy could mean losing her forever.

Ultimately it’s their bond with each other that holds them together, in a true test of love, loss and survival.

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble

“You ready for this, Guera?” he asks.

It’s a test, Guera. Only thing I can say is you’re allowed to fight back. Take ‘em out with everything you got.

I’d heard of people being jumped into a gang before, maybe it was Rosa who told me about it. As the girls start to descend from their spots around the room, slowly closing in like encircling wolves, I know what’s about to happen.

The realization takes hold in my chest, a quick plunge of the heart into an icy lake of fear. I back away slowly out of instinct, ready to run, but there’s nowhere to go. The sound of their skittering feet is the first thing I hear before they come at me. Me against all of them. Me against Rose Tattoo and Cigarette Twins. Me against the jealous novias. Ten sets of eyes glinting with the thrill of a fight. I flinch and turn my back to avoid the fists, but they’re all around me. One of them catches me by the shoulders, holding me in place as the other girls hit the back of my skull. My head flies forward, chin to chest.

At first I don’t know whether to swing or cover. I reach up to protect myself, but there are too many points of contact. The rush of adrenaline is intense. It blocks the pain, but there is a fiery need in me to get away. I try and kick or punch, feeling one or two connect, but the girls are everywhere. An elbow slams against my temple. My head splits and my ears ring. I go down.

Every infinite minute of being the enemy feels like it’ll never end.

Someone’s shoe stomps my thigh. Others strike my ribs. I heave and gag until I can’t breathe. But that kind of terror turns me into a resilient kind of crazy. The kind of rabid-mad that is born of desperation. I scrape and flail until I’m on my feet, pulling hair and swinging my fists, making contact with whatever I can. I don’t realize I’m screaming until Toño calls them to a stop.

It ceases the moment the girls hear his voice, and I’m left there shaking and crazed, my breath dragging in and out of my lungs in a feverish effort to return to its normal rhythm. I pant and cry, as softly as I can, but it’s hard to deny my body the relief of all-out sobbing. My head hurts. My brain smashes against my skull with the pulse of too much pressure. I taste blood in my mouth, though no one has touched my face. Now that it’s over, the pain of it all rushes to the surface and makes me want to vomit. I feel like I could die.

Why am I here? Why am I doing this?

“She’s in,” Toño says, and the cheers of the group shock my senses and make me tense up.

They all rush me, and at first I’m terrified it’s about to start again, but instead they hug me and pat me on the shoulder all at once. Each hand on my back or squeeze around the shoulders rocks me with pain, but they’re so happy. Their laughter and cheering is contagious, it flows into me, filling me with a strange sense of pride and belonging. I can’t help my smile when I see their encouraging faces. I even start to laugh.

Milly turned her
attention back to one of the most famous men in Scottish history. A man, as it
turns out, that kept looking at her with a great deal of interest. And not the
sort that said he was overly concerned about the battle, but more so how
attached her and Adlin might really be.
“Och, the things
ye never see coming,” Adlin muttered under his breath as he stood. “William, if
‘twould not be a bother, Mildred and I would like to take shelter soon and rest
for the eve.”
She frowned at
Adlin. “We would?”
“Aye.” He downed
the last of his whisky then held out his hand to her while he spoke to William
Wallace. “I’m sure you ken we’re weary. If you can spare a tent, I’ll do my own
hunting and see Mildred is well cared for.”
William’s brows
rose. “Do ye not mean ‘Milly’ then, Adlin?”
Mildred crossed
her arms over her chest, ignored Adlin’s hand and gave him an ‘at least he can
get my name right’ look.
Adlin’s jaw
clenched, and she swore she saw a teeny, tiny vein throb in his left temple as
he tried to play it cool. “Aye, Milly.” Though he seemed jovial enough, she
didn’t miss the challenge in his eyes when they met hers. “I grow weary and
must rest so that I can assist my countrymen on the morrow. Should I send Blair
or Aðísla to see you safely to sleep when you’re ready?”
Milly wanted to
smack him upside the head, but they both knew she was not going to let him
leave without her. It wasn’t that she felt unsafe with William, just she felt
safer with Adlin. She would love to stay here for hours and learn as much as
she could from William, maybe even enjoy the way he looked at her, but not
without Adlin. He was her safety net.
The only one she
trusted to get her home.
The only one she
suspected knew how.
Or so she kept
telling herself as she stood and smiled at William. “Thank you so much for…”
she shook her head and eyed the maps, then him. “For trusting me even if you
were trying to use me.”
“Och, lass, ‘tis
not as bad as that.” He stood so swiftly, his height so imposing, that she
nearly stumbled back had he not caught her. Milly’s mouth went dry as William’s
arm came around her lower back and he again brought the back of her hand to his
lips before his eyes dropped to her ring. “Might ye remember that ‘twas the gem
and ye that first caught my interest, Milly. Not what ye could tell me of the
“I know.” And
she did. “But I have to…”
Suddenly, though
he had simply rested his hand on the table, Milly felt Adlin all around her.
His varied but strong emotions. His humor at her gall. His jealousy at the look
of desire in William’s eyes. His anger that another man was laying a finger on
her. His inner wisdom as he tried to keep things in perspective and measure out
their situation in its entirety.
When wind rushed
through the tent and maps scattered everywhere, she glanced over her shoulder
into his eyes and saw something profound. For a flicker of a moment, his eyes
shone bright blue, and she saw him. The real him. Who he was on the inside. A
man she had known so well.
A blink later,
however, he was gone.
Or was he?
“Might we be
given some shelter then, William?” Adlin said softly, his eyes never leaving

cordial and if she wasn’t mistaken, a bit flirtatious as he responded to Adlin
but kept his eyes on her. “Aye, of course. I’ll see Milly well cared for…” His
eyes drifted over her head to Adlin. “Both of ye that is.”
“Good then, my
friend.” Adlin nodded, took her hand and pulled her out of William’s arms.
“’Tis much appreciated.”
William’s eyes
lingered on her for a moment before he said, “Come along then,” and strode out
of the tent.

Milly narrowed
her eyes when the corner of Adlin’s mouth tilted up, he winked then pulled her
after him. Hell, he knew exactly what he was doing, and she would bet he could
anticipate and get his way every time no matter the circumstance. She almost
wondered as they followed William if he hadn’t somehow manipulated the
situation from the very moment they walked into William’s tent. Because wasn’t
she now willingly, for her own safety, agreeing to sleep in Adlin’s tent?
